All women love a day at the spa.  While you are there you think, “Ahhh, this is just what I needed,” and when you leave you think, “I can’t wait to come back!”  That is how we want you to feel at Spa for the Soul.  We have an exciting semester of Bible study planned!  Join us as we de-stress, de-frazzle, and delight in God’s Word.  Spa for the Soul: TCABC’s answer to Ladies Bible Study.

Please click on the pages in the sidebar to the right to see what studies we are offering and to register on-line.  You may also come by the women’s kiosk in the west hall on Sunday mornings.

We look forward to seeing you at Spa For The Soul!

Hello Ladies…Do you still have some Christmas shopping to do?  Come by the church Thursday between 10 am – 2 pm for our 1/2 price sale.  We will also be available for you to shop Thursday evening from 6pm – 8pm.  Our kiosk will be located in the South Hall.

Little Lemon Snowbites
(Also found in Denise’s A Gathering Around Your Table cookbook in the Desserts section under the name “Little Bite of Sunshine.”)
48 sugar cookies (if you are making your own, you can crush up lemon drops in the dough before baking)
2/3 cup lemon curd
2/3 cup Cool Whip
Mix together the lemon curd and Cool Whip until the lemon curd is completely blended in.
Spread a thin layer of the mixture on the backside of one sugar cookie and then place another
sugar cookie on top.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar.  These will keep in the refrigerator or can
be frozen for up to 2 weeks.
Christmas Gathering Salad
Dressing:
1 c sugar
1 c oil
1/2 c red wine vinegar
1 Tbs soy sauce
Mix all the dressing ingredients together very well (it will start to separate a bit). We used a salad mix and topped with mandarin oranges (drained), dried cranberries, and glazed walnuts.  Toss together the salad with the dressing right before serving.
Coffee Punch
(Also found in Denise’s A Gathering Around Your Table cookbook in the Beverages section.)
1 1/4 cup instant coffee granules
5 C hot water
2 1/2 C sugar
1 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 gallon chocolate ice cream
1 gallon milk

Add sugar, coffee, and water. In large punch bowl scoop out slightly melted ice cream.

Pour hot coffee mixture over ice cream and add milk.
Stir until creamy.  Makes about 50 servings.
Holiday Party Rolls

(Also found in Denise’s A Gathering Around Your Table cookbook in the Appetizers section under the name “Katie Rolls.”)

24 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (2 packages)
3/4-1 lb thinly sliced ham
8 slices swiss cheese
1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp dried minced onions
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Leave the rolls intact and slice the entire loaf in half so that
you have a solid top and bottom piece.  Layer the ham and cheese
evenly on the bottom half.  Place the top layer of rolls over the ham
and cheese and place on a large cookie sheet with sides.
Mix the remaining ingredients together and pour over the top
of the rolls.  Bake at 350 for 15-20 min or until golden brown.  Let
cool before cutting.  These are also good with turkey and provolone
What’s Hot?

This year try adding a couple new “hot” items to your old favorites to give them a twist that is sure to please.  For whichever decorating style you are—woodsy, glitzy, or whimsy, as I have named them, there are oh so many ideas to give them a fresh new look.

Natural Christmas Decorations

Christmas is the perfect time to bring the outside in and use nature’s treasures in your decorations.  Deck your halls with pine, magnolia, birds’ nests, and seedpods.  Owls and birds have made a real comeback and make a great addition to your decorations.  Try adding fresh fruit to your tree or mantel for a great natural look.  The natural look can be simple, such as a beautiful glass bird on a willow branch.  Also look for burlap, as it is very popular this season in tree skirts, table runners, and ribbon.

Glitzy and Glam

Silver, gold and bronze—this year use all of them together.  There is no limit to the amount of sparkle, glitter, and shine you can add to your tree.  Try wiring groups of three varying size metallic balls together and adding to your garlands.  Keep wiring and adding, because more is better!
Mercury glass is all the rage this year and adds a new look to the old.

Whimsy

Have fun and add bright colors and the unexpected to give your tree a whimsical eclectic feel.  Bright garland, bells, and ribbon can liven up any area.  Rickrack and felt are back!  Use your imagination and have fun.
